Handicap InformationWe encourage all our golfers to work towards obtaining a golf handicap. The purpose of World Handicap System (WHS) is to make the game of golf more enjoyable for golfers. It provides a consistent means of measuring performance and progress and enables golfers of different abilities to compete, or play a casual round, with anyone else on a fair and equal basis. Through the WHS system, each golfer establishes a ‘Handicap Index’ which is the measure of a player’s ability on a course of standard playing ability. To obtain a handicap, you need to play and record 54 holes from any combination of 9- hole or 18- hole rounds. Maximum handicap is 54.0 regardless of age or gender. RVJG recommends the Golf Canada App. This allows you to track your score, track your improvement and connect with other golfers from the club and elsewhere.
